Breaking : EPL names decoded (as per E2 test site)

As EPL countdown winds down on Earth2 (countdown also available on E2News homepage), we decode what is the minimum allowed length for your EPL. Disclaimer: This initial information is as per observation on the test site and therefore could be subject to change.

The EPL FAQ document specifies that the allowable minimum length for an EPL will be between 4-7 characters depending on Class and Plot Size (and subject to maximum 36 characters). As per the test, EPL names allow alpha numeric characters and dashes (no other special characters or spaces are allowed, and is only lowercase letters)

Minimum allowable length for EPLs on test site is as per the below grid:-

• 4 chars :- Class 1, 701+ Tiles

• 5 chars :- Class 1, 601-700 Tiles

• 6 chars :- Class 1, 451-600 Tiles

• 7 chars :- All other classes and plot sizes

Anything less than C1 450 Tiles doesn't have any EPL length perks, and subject to minimum 7 characters

We can observe from above grid that length perks are exclusive to Class 1 and that too for plot size >= 451 tiles. If EPLs are going to be a thing the premium on such properties could soar in near future.

E2.News take - There is a high probability that this grid will carry through to the launch, however we feel that E2 could have left some incentive for larger C2 properties (if not C3), especially 700+ Tiles.
